Scheduled for an August 2017 release is the second in Nathan Moody’s Études series, White Box. Each release in the Études series explores one single instrument. In this case, it’s the Teenage Engineering OP-1 synthesizer.
While this bright white little box feels quaint and is usually associated with lightweight electro, Moody takes the OP-1 into a darker, more ambient place. While the recordings are layered, every layer was performed live, and no other sound source besides the OP-1 itself were used.
Like all releases in the Études series, this album will be released as a limited edition cassette, with format-exclusive continuous A and B side mixes, and digital format as discrete tracks. Each format includes over 15 minutes of bonus tracks.
Stay tuned for a more specific release date, but all formats ship on 16 August 2017.
