DRIFTER – Album Teaser from Noise Jockey on Vimeo.
The follow-up release to Nathan Moody’s last LP, Drifter is the second in a three-album cycle which Moody calls the “Form Cycle.” Started last fall (2015) with Dissolver, it will be concluded with the full-length Deceiver LP in late 2016. Drifter will be available on May 30, 2016 as a digital download (Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon) and a limited edition of 100 signed and numbered compact discs.
Hot on the heels of the remix EP Dissolved, Drifter continues Moody’s delicate dance between sound design and music. More ethereal and improvisational than Dissolver, with very little percussion, this release focuses on rhythmic textures that shift and morph, taken from physical instruments, field recordings, and synthesizers. Drifter will take you on surprising journeys at every turn, and the upcoming Deceiver album will complete Moody’s trilogy later this year.
Comments from early listeners include:
“I was pleasantly unsettled by Drifter”“Beautiful textures and tones throughout”“It comes across as more confident, forward and assured”“It’s simply beautiful.”
