It is what is says, people! ;-) I ducked out some handling noise, but for the most part the audio is unaltered. Enjoy.

AMAZING!!!!!!
Was this something you just decided to try or something that happened by accident?
By accident. I was dropping the magnet on the sheet metal you see in the background of the video, using the hydrophone as a contact mic. The magnet hit the mic and stuck. One thing led to another and…
I figured something like that probably happened. Some of the best sounds are made by mistake… e.g. the lightsaber!
Great video! That’s very cool. It reminds of the sound of those magnet noise-makers. I suppose it’s the same principle at work.

BTW, what camera are you using? Looks like a 5D.
This was shot with a Canon 7D with a 16-35mm f2.8 II lens. Other videos may vary with other lenses or being shot with a Canon XHA1 (as was the first bike video).
@ Matt: I *just* got a pair of rattlesnake egg magnets! We’ll see what we can cook up with those… ;-)
Really cool!
In Korea I bought myself a pair of those magnets and I love them! I had some fun results placing one magnet inside the bottom of a can (ribbed) and one on the outside. I then moved the magnet around and it made a really good sound…
Lovely!!
